What we collect

Price Finder (Smart Shopper Edition) does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The extension does not use trackers, analytics, advertising IDs, or cookies.

Data stored locally on your device

The extension uses your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local /browser.storage.local) to remember your preferences only:

• Preferred display currency and country
• Light/dark theme
• Recent search history (last items, on your device only)
• Favorites and watched products (with optional target price)

This data never leaves your device and is removed when you uninstall the extension.

Network requests

When you run a search (or the background watcher re-checks a watched product), the extension sends the search query and your selected country/currency to our backend at https://price-pal-extension.lovable.app/api/public/price-search. The backend forwards the query to a third-party web search provider (Firecrawl) to retrieve public product listings. We do not log your IP address with the query, do not store search history server-side, and do not associate requests with any user identity.

Permissions

• storage — save your preferences locally.
• alarms — re-check watched products on a schedule.
• notifications — alert you when a watched price drops.
• host permission for *.lovable.app — call our search backend only.

Third parties

Search results are obtained via Firecrawl. Currency exchange rates are fetched from the public open.er-api.com endpoint. Neither receives personal information about you.

Children

The extension is not directed to children under 13.

Any future changes to this policy will be posted on this page with an updated date.
